In Matthew 28:19-20, Jesus Commanded the eleven disciples to go into all nations and teach all that repent to believe in Christ as their Lord and Saviour, Baptise in the NAME of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost and to observe all things that He has had commanded them.
Jesus order on baptism was a command, but on the day of Pentecost , Peter said, 'REPENT AND BE BAPTIZED EVERYONE OF YOU IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST' for the remission of sins... and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls..." (Acts 2:38-47).
This was the command carried out. Why? Did Peter disobey?
Jesus said in John 17:18-20... "Even so have I also sent them into the world....
Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word."
Jesus told His disciple that He had many things to tell them which they could not bear then but when the Spirit of Truth shall come it would guide them into all truth which includes the the NAME of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost (John 16: 12-13)".., And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high (Luke 24:49).
On the day of Pentecost when the living Church of God was born, the Holy Spirit came upon one hundred and twenty of them in the upper-room in Jerusalem. They were endued with power and wisdom from God. The Holy Spirit also revealed to them the things Jesus told them which they did not understand. Primarily among the mystery was the Name of Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
Now notice that Paul was not there in the upper room, he was not even a believer in Christ then. But one day, Saul met with Christ and became Paul. It is noteworthy, that as Christ called Peter by the sea-side so did He also call Paul out of Heaven on his way to Damascus. These two great saints were called by Christ Himself not by two separate persons. And the gospel they preached were both given to them by Christ, not by an ordinary man (Gal. 1:7-9 and I:12).
Why then did they baptize in a way that "differs" from Jesus instruction? Many people ask, Here now is the answer.
THERE IS ONLY ONE GOD WHO SHOWED HIMSELF THREE WAYS TO THE WORLD.
In the Old Testament He was the Father in creation; In the New Testament (as a Son), He came in the Father's Name for Redemption and now, He seals the believers and dwells in them as Comforter (Isa. 9:6; Jn. 1:1-14; Jn. 5:43; Eph. 4:4-6; Col. 1:14-21 and 1 Jn 4:4 ...etc ).
In the New Testament, Jesus did not say baptize them "in Father, Son and Holy Spirit" but in the "NAME".
There is a Name that the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit bare and that Name is the Lord Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit came on the day of Pentecost to reveal that Name to the Saints and that was why Peter used it. Remember Peter had the key of the Kingdom of Heaven (Matt.16:18-19). Paul who also received the same Holy Spirit used the Name in baptism.
If you check the Bible there is no place that any one person was baptised using "in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost." The use of titles to baptise was introduced by the Roman Catholic Church some years after, because she did not have the anointing of the Holy Spirit to reveal the NAME to her. Since all other churches came out of the Roman Catholic Church they followed the wrong step of their MOTHER (Rev. 17:1-18).
Jesus said, Baptise them in the NAME.
"Father is not a name as Head of State" is not a name- they are Both titles.
Son also is not a name but a title. If your name is Chris, you can be a printer, son to your parents, a father to your children, a husband to your wife etc. If you baptize in Father, Son and Holy Spirit you baptize in title not a Name.
Jesus said "In the NAME" which is one name, and when the order was carried out the Name was revealed to be Jesus, the Name above all other names in heaven and on earth.
JESUS IS THE NAME OF GOD ALMIGHTY. Many people do not believe this because they have been taught that God is the name of God.
G-O-D is not God's name. The word "God" means is an object of worship.
Anything one devotes his time to and gives first place treatment in his life becomes his god. The object may be wood or stone, money or woman, it may even be education. Because it receives the priority of reverence before God, it becomes your god.
"... the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost... Shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatever I have said unto you" (Jn. 14:26). The name which the Holy Spirit came with was the Name of JESUS CHRIST.
We are told that there is no other name given to man, both in heaven and in earth by which we can be saved but the Name of JESUS.
At the sound of the Name "JESUS" demons tremble and every knee in heaven bows (Phil. 2:10). The highest Name in heaven must have to be the Name of the Highest person. Therefore anyone else there "greater" than the Lord Jesus Christ must bow before Him.
Isaiah says Emmanuel (GOD with us) is the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father (Isa. 9:6). We do not have two Everlasting Father but ONE, the King of Kings is also ONE, the Alpha and Omega is only ONE and His name is "JESUS". "I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord Which is and Which was and Which is to come, the Almighty" (Rev. 1:8).
This ONE Almighty God showed Himself to the world in three ways, this does not make Him THREE GODS. The three that bear witness in heaven are one and the same person (1 Jn. 5:7-8). All we need is the Holy Spirit to understand the Mystery.
The encounter of David and Goliath is very common story that everybody knows (1 Samuel 17:1-58). In verse 40, David chose five stones which represent the five letters spelling JESUS and used only one of the stones to kill Goliath (verse 49). This shows there is only One God, not three and His Name Is Jesus. In verse 46, David said that people would "know that there is A GOD in Israel". Not THREE GODS. "Hear, O Israel: the LORD our God is one LORD" (Deut. 6:4).
The children of Israel marched out of Egypt under Moses as he led them under the Power of God Almighty for God was with them (leading them by the Pillar of fire in the night and Pillar of cloud by day). When they were hungry, He gave them food, when they were thirsty, He gave them water etc. In 1 Cor. 10:4, Paul led by the Holy Spirit confirmed the Rock which led and followed them to be CHRIST. In 1 Tim. 3:16, Paul writing to a younger minister admonished him never to dispute about this great mystery that God came in the flesh, preached to the nations or the Gentiles, believed on in the world, seen by angels and taken up into heaven. He was writing about the god who came into the world in the flesh and that God who was taken into heaven to be the LORD JESUS CHRIST. That is why Paul by the Holy Spirit baptised in the Name of Jesus, and Peter did the same thing. The Holy Spirit taught them the Name that is above all names in heaven and in earth to be the LORD JESUS CHRIST.
Baptism shows dying with Jesus, it will be wrong to say the Father died for you or the Holy Spirit died for you. As God cannot die, the Holy Spirit cannot die also. That is why God came in the flesh (for sacrifice) and His blood atones for our sins (Acts 20:28). As many of us as are baptised in Christ Jesus were baptized into His death (Rom. 6:3-4). Jesus died, so also we die with Him in baptism. If you are going to live with Christ when He comes, you have to die first with Him.
Col. 2:8-10 Says in Christ dwelleth the fullness of the Godhead bodily.
In means of the titles of Father, Son and Holy Spirit are complete in Jesus Christ and if you are in Christ, you are also complete.
Let us see how Peter and Paul did it that God was following them with sign and wonders. In Acts 2:38. Peter said repent and be baptised in the Name of Jesus Christ; then you shall receive the Holy Spirit.
Why did the people not challenge Peter?
Why did the rest of 119 disciples not correct Peter saying he was wrong because Jesus said in the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost?
There was no such thing because they all had the same Spirit of God and therefore the same Revelation.
They knew Peter was under the Holy Spirit and was saying the right thing. Today people are still possessed by the Romans spirit of worshiping many gods and denying the Name of the Lord.
In Acts. 10:44-48 we see Peter in a gentile's house preaching salvation in Christ Jesus and when they believed he commanded them to be baptized in the Name of the Lord. (Not the titles of Father, Son and Holy Spirit).
In Acts 19:17 we see Paul in Ephesus, where he met with follower of John the Baptist, even though they had been baptised unto John's baptism, yet they knew nothing about the Holy Spirit, because they were not baptized into the Name of the Lord and Saviour. "Notice that Paul had to get them re-baptized in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ before they received the Holy Spirit, if you are baptized wrongly you will receive the wrong spirit, but if you are baptized Rightly you will receive the "Holy Ghost", whom God hath given to them that obey Him" (Acts 5:32).
Watch what is going on among the so-called Christians today. They professed to be baptised into Father, Son and the Holy Spirit, watch the type of spirit they receive. They exhibit strife, anger, fornication, pride, speaking in fake tongue in the church.
No wonder they cannot interpret them!
Servants of Satan can also do what they are doing today because the same familiar spirit is going around the church ad angel of light and ministers of righteousness (2 Chro. 11:13-15).
The churches are filled with noise making about miracles but the Word of God is lacking. Peter and John were not killed because of miracles, signs and wonders or lack of it. They were killed because they preached Jesus (the Word of God), Rev. 19:13 and did all things in the Name of the Lord Jesus.
Some fellowships today prefer to have a smoker, drunkard and a money monger for a pastor with fake prophecies, signs and wonder rather than having a man of God.
Some are holding the Word of God with respect of persons. They are afraid to accept the truth because of human honour and their salaries and tithes (belly).
This is the Truth, get Re-Baptised in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ and you will Receive the Holy Spirit. RIGHT BAPTISM BRING RIGHT SPIRIT.
Can you say with conviction that "I Am Glad I Am Among Those Who Do All Things In The Name Of The Lord Jesus?" (Col. 3:17)
Have you continued in the Apostles doctrine and not in the men's and the so-called church doctrine? (Acts 2:42; Rom. 6:17 and Jude 1:3, etc.).
We are now in the End-time; God is moving again calling out a Bride Church who will bring to an end what the early church began on the day of Pentecost. The Bride Church must have One Faith, One Lord, One Baptism just as in the Apostles days (Eph. 4:4-6).
GO BACK TO THE BIBLE AND TO THE APOSTLES DOCTRINE AS IT WAS BEFORE CATHOLICISM TOOK OVER CHRISTIANITY, RETURN TO THE BIBLE MY PEOPLE. GOD IS CALLING OUT A PEOPLE UNTO HIMSELF (THE WORD) TODAY IF YOU HEAR HIS VOICE HARDEN NOT YOUR HEART.
Your leaders may not want to humble themselves to receive God's Word because of pride, just remember it was the leaders of people that rejected Christ and killed Him (Luke 24:20).
It was also the leaders that told Peter and John never to preach in the Name of Jesus again (John 18:14, John 19:12 & Acts 5:27-47). Today, it is the leaders of the people who are stopping the Truth from being Preached to the people.
WE ARE IN BIBLE DAYS AGAIN. GET BACK TO THE BIBLE GOD'S PEOPLE OR YOU WILL SHARE THE PUNISHMENT OF THE UNREPENTANTS AND UNBELIEVERS.
Repent and be Baptized in the Name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost (Matthew 28:19). The NAME that reveals and of which the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit reside in the LORD JESUS CHRIST (Acts 2:38).
